Stay where the fun doesn't stop or start with lifts. While others are navigating extreme traffic conditions, you'll be kicking back, enjoying the magic of life on snow. Skip the morning rush, enjoy a leisurely hot breakfast, ski out, build a snowman, throw snowballs, enjoy après by the fire and watch the sun go down.
Step outside, clip on your skis or strap on your board and ride off on your adventure!
Valhalla Lodge is perched hillside, commanding spectacular panoramic views across the face of Perisher Resort. We are typically snowbound for most of the ski season which runs between June and October Long Weekends. We include oversnow arrival, departure and after ski transfers for your convenience.
Perisher Snow Resort boasts 4 interlinking resort areas, 7 mountain peaks and about 50 lifts/tows.
The resort caters to all age and ability levels from beginner to expert.
It's only a 2 minute downhill ski from Valhalla to the Perisher Centre footbridge. From here you have direct access to Perisher Resort. Depending upon snow coverage you can reach all 4 resort areas by skiing across the resorts or alternatively Smiggin Holes can be reached by free shuttle bus and Blue Cow by free skitube.
If ability or conditions do not allow you to ski out, it's a short downhill walk (about 10minutes) to Front Valley, or you can organise an oversnow transfer at own expense.
Group and private lessons are available for all levels. We highly recommend pre-booking lessons to avoid disappointment.
Tickets, lessons, ski tube and on mountain hire can all be purchased online through the Perisher website. Unfortunately we do not have access to sell Perisher products.
Stay on mountain and ski under the lights. Night skiing is subject to conditions and operation by Perisher Snow Resort on set nights. For more details see here. Fireworks are subject to operation by Perisher Resort
TubeTown was not open in 2021 due to COVID restrictions. Tubetown is operated by Perisher Snow Resort and is located behind the day car park, near the designated toboggan area. Tubetown is not open all season, usually makes it debut mid to late July. For more information see here.
To get you back to the lodge each afternoon with minimum fuss we include a complimentary oversnow transfer on non-arrival/departure days between 3:30pm - 5:30pm daily. If you wish to return at other times you can either walk (10mins) or take a Hans Oversnow "taxi" at own expense.
Oversnow transfers with baggage are included on arrival/departure days.
There are plenty of resort and non-resort cafes, pubs and restaurants dotted across the resort to stop for lunch, a cold beverage or hot chocolate.
We're not called Valhalla (Nordic Heaven) for nothing! Marked, groomed trails are located closely behind and across from our lodge.
There are kilometres upon kilometres of trails for you to enjoy with no trail fees to pay and no queues! Many trails are groomed daily.
The Perisher Sverre Kaaten Nordic Shelter is approximately 200m from our doorstep. This shelter offers day-use facilities for the cross country community and is often where lessons begin.
Cross country ski gear and snow shoe hire is available here on mountain through Wilderness Sports, in Perisher Valley.
Both Wilderness Sports and K7 Adventures offer lessons and day tour options.
Get out beyond the resort boundaries with a local experienced guide. They know the best spots to take you for the ultimate days adventure.
See Wilderness Sports and K7 Adventures for details. Photo by K7 Adventures.
For the kids and the kids at heart! Tobogganing is a fun and free activity, although you will need to supply or hire a toboggan. A designated tobogganing area is located near Perisher Ski Resort.
No experience required and suitable for most ages and fitness levels.
To make the most of your adventure we recommend taking a half or full day trip with a local experienced guide. They know the best places to take you given the weather conditions of the day.
See Wilderness Sports or K7 Adventures.
Snowshoes can be hired at Wilderness Sports in Perisher Valley.
Our location is perfect for making the most out of your snow holiday and enjoying more after ski on snow fun well after the lifts have shut.
Snow Play was permitted on our lease area around our lodge in 2020. Perisher Snow Resort did not permit snow play on their lease area due to COVID.
The Charlotte Pass DayTripper package includes transfer by scenic oversow, lunch and your choice of a full mountain lift pass or a 2.5hour guided snowshoe tour.
The Perisher Skitube Terminal houses shops including a chemist, post office and food outlets.
Pub Lunches: The Man From Snowy River Pub, Sun Deck and The Pub are accessible for non-ski resort guests.
Access to the food court at the Perisher Centre which is located on Perisher Resort property was restricted in 2020 to guests with ski passes only due to COVID restrictions.
Snowy Mountains Babysitting will come to Valhalla to mind your children. They offer a variety of services including evening, part and full-time care.
You're making the right choice, there is nothing like the magic of staying on snow! Ski lessons are available and are highly recommended for downhill and cross country skiing. Until you have mastered the art of balance, turning and stopping, you will not be able to ski out of Valhalla in the mornings. For convenience we would recommend hiring a Hans Oversnow taxi to take you down to Perisher Snow Resort in the morning (this is at own expense). Alternatively it is a 10 minute walk. If you opt to walk you will require waterproof shoes / après boots / ski or snowboard boots. You might like to consider hiring a locker at Perisher Ski Resort as walking in ski boots and carrying ski gear can be overwhelming for the first timer (particularly if you are with kids).
To get you back with minimum fuss each afternoon we provide a complimentary transfer with Hans Oversnow between 3:30pm - 5:30pm on non-arrival/departure days.
If you have chosen to stay with us at Valhalla and have any questions about your holiday, please contact us, we are here to help!
