October is a spectacular time to visit Kosciuszko National Park as the winter crowds disappear from the valley and the serenity of our summer season begins. The countryside is springing into life, the colours are emerging from under the winter blanket of snow. The flame robins are flitting about and the days are becoming lighter and longer. There is often some snow still remaining around the lodge and good coverage out on the main range for a snow shoe or back country ski. The views are of course spectacular, the rivers are flowing and the waterfalls cascading. Fishing season opens after October Long Weekend.
