About October
October is a spectacular time to visit Kosciuszko National Park as the winter crowds disappear from the valley and the serenity of our summer season begins. The countryside is springing into life, the colours are emerging from under the winter blanket of snow. The flame robins are flitting about and the days are becoming lighter and longer. There is often some snow still remaining around the lodge and good coverage out on the main range for a snow shoe or back country ski. The views are of course spectacular, the rivers are flowing and the waterfalls cascading. Fishing season opens after October Long Weekend.
November 2025

The snow continues to melt, the waterfalls and creeks are flowing and the countryside is transforming as it embraces the pop of spring. November is a fabulous time for walking in the mountains. It's a quieter time of year to enjoy the spectacular landscapes of Kosciuszko with some snow drifts still present on the main range and snowshoeing a possibility.
